Professional and compassionate veterinary physiotherapy service based in the North East of England.
Milly Kipling Veterinary PhysiotherAPY
Compassionate veterinary physiotherapy for dogs and horses across Darlington, Durham and North Yorkshire.
Whether your animal is recovering from an injury, managing a long-term condition, returning to work or simply needs some extra support to stay comfortable and mobile, every treatment plan is tailored to them as an individual.
Animals have always been a huge part of my life. Growing up with family dogs and horses, I developed a deep love for them and a real fascination with the way they move and behave.
I take the time to understand your animal, their lifestyle, their history and what matters to you as their owner, before creating a treatment and rehabilitation plan specifically for them.
Whether that means helping a dog regain strength after surgery, supporting an older dog living with arthritis, helping a horse return to ridden work or simply keeping an active animal feeling at their best, I am here to support you throughout the process.
Every animal deserves individual care
Veterinary Physiotherapy for Dogs & Horses
For dogs
I work with dogs of all ages and abilities, including those:
- Recovering from surgery or injury
- Living with arthritis or other long-term conditions
- Experiencing changes in mobility
- Returning to exercise following a period of rest
- Participating in sporting or working activities
- Needing support to maintain strength, flexibility and confidence as they age
Treatment may include hands-on therapy, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation exercises and laser therapy, depending on your dog’s individual needs.
My aim is always to make rehabilitation something that fits naturally into your life, rather than something that feels overwhelming.
For horses
Whether your horse is a much-loved companion, a happy hacker or a competitive athlete, maintaining good movement and comfort can make a real difference to their wellbeing.
I work with horses in both rehabilitation and ridden work, supporting them through:
- Injury and post-operative rehabilitation
- Returning to work following rest
- Muscle tension and discomfort
- Changes in movement or mobility
- Strength and conditioning
- Postural and muscular imbalances
- Maintaining mobility in older horses
- Supporting performance and general wellbeing
Where appropriate, treatment can be complemented with bespoke groundwork, polework or ridden exercise, helping you continue the benefits of physiotherapy between appointments.

My Approach
It's about the whole animal
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.
Before treatment, I take time to assess how your animal moves and listen to your concerns and observations. You spend every day with your animal, so the little things you notice can be incredibly important.
I consider their:
Movement • Mobility • Strength • Balance • Posture • Comfort • Lifestyle • Workload
From there, we can build a plan that is appropriate for your animal and realistic for you.
Treatment might include hands-on soft tissue work, therapeutic exercise, rehabilitation exercises or laser therapy. As your animal progresses, their programme can be adapted to reflect their changing needs.
For me, successful rehabilitation isn’t just about getting an animal through an injury. It’s about helping them regain confidence, strength and enjoyment in movement.
